Faherty Friend: Jed

Faherty Friend: Jed

On a recent sunny California day, we met up with our friend Jedidiah Jenkins. Jed rode his bike from Oregon to Patagonia, chronicling his journey in short vignettes and illustrations. He’s a writer, executive editor at Wilderness Magazine and a modern day Thoreau. He's the quintessential brand ambassador because his life revolves around travel, life's great moments, the observation of both nature and humanity, and the intricate relationship between self and community.  Read on to learn more about our favorite wanderer. RAPID FIRE What did you eat for Breakfast?  Hard boiled eggs and coffee and a banana. I was in...

4 Years Later

4 Years Later

Four years ago, we quit our jobs to follow our childhood dream of creating a brand. We started in a 250 sq. ft studio in Union Square with three team members and a couple of swim suits. Four years later, we offer every clothing category, have 5 stores, and a team of 30. 1. Behind the Scenes of our Spring Catalog

Behind the Scenes of our Spring Catalog

In January, we escaped the NYC cold and traveled to Topanga Canyon and Malibu for our spring catalog shoot. We had a good crew of peeps: Malibu native and fellow surfer Zen Gesner, old friend and vintage van remodeler Paul Tralka, Alex and Kerry's friend from college and singer Jacqueline Becker, and childhood friend and surf photographer Matt Catalano, who we somehow convinced to start shooting clothing. The catalog turned out awesome, but some of the best shots (and laughs) came from behind the scenes. So, it was WINDY. We're talking 40 mile gusts of wind that literally almost blew...

Team Faherty: Meet Tim

Team Faherty: Meet Tim

OK, SO WHAT DO YOU ACTUALLY DO? Who's askin'? If your were to take a survey around HQ, I think that the general consensus would be that I SLANG. Within the realm of slang, I help make decisions that impact our company. I generally hold down the fort on the West Coast. I manage our wholesale relationships for half of the US as well as our major department stores. I travel a ton. I get to visit stores all around the country and meet our customers. I play a role in our retail business - from merchandising to inventory planning...

Sun Sessions: NYC

Sun Sessions: NYC

Last year, we started a seasonal event called Sun Sessions, a concert series bedrocked on community, connection, and creativity (the 3 things that give us life). The night opens with good food and drink, a short guided meditation by our brand president Kerry Docherty, and ends with an acoustic performance by some of our favorite musicians. We've now hosted Sun Sessions at our Malibu Store in California, the Urban Cowboy boutique hotel in Nashville, and a Marfa-inspired home in Austin. Our most recent Sun Sessions was held at a loft space in the Lower East Side in NYC and...
