Our Progress Toward a More Responsible Future

At Faherty, sustainability is part of how we work every day. Guided by our core value of Always Innovate, we’re working toward a more responsible, circular and low-impact future. As we look ahead to our future goals, here’s how far we’ve come in 2024.

One of our biggest milestones has been materials. In 2024, 72% of the fibers we used were certified responsible—up from 62% the year before. That progress includes major strides in cotton, recycled polyester, and viscose, putting us close to our goal of reaching 80% responsible fibers by 2025.

Transparency in how our clothes are made is just as important as what they’re made from. In 2024, all of our Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers (the partners who make our fabrics and assemble our products) were invited to join Retraced, a platform that maps out our supply chain. This step helps us create deeper accountability and visibility across every stage of production.

Not every area went smoothly. Our goal is to move 70% of our shipping from air to ocean freight because ships have a much lower carbon footprint. But global logistics challenges meant we had to rely more on air shipments in 2024, dropping our ocean shipments from 65% to 51%. It was a step back, but also a reminder that meaningful change isn’t always linear. We’re already reworking our logistics strategy to move forward again in the coming years.

When it comes to recycling and upcycling, our Second Wave program (which takes pre-loved Faherty pieces back for resale or donation) grew significantly. In 2024, over 29,000 pounds of clothing found a new purpose instead of going to landfills. More than 23,000 pieces found a second life through resale, and nearly 5,000 were donated. Each trade-in represents progress toward building a system where clothes are designed to keep moving, not just end up as waste.

Finally, we started developing our first official Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Reduction Plan. Working with experts and aligning with the Science-Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) means we’ll be setting clear, science-backed goals in 2025 to reduce our footprint even further.

For us, sustainability is about steady progress. We’re improving season after season, whether it’s better materials, circular systems, or more supply chain transparency, we’re committed to doing the work. This is just a snapshot of where we are now. Stay tuned for our full Impact Report in 2026.
