Fall is in the air — the cool breezes, changing leaves, shorter days. It’s the time of year when we reach for cozy blankets and sweaters, turning inwards and grounding ourselves in the comforting, practical rituals of home.

It’s also an incredibly rich natural moment, so when Chief Creative Officer Mike Faherty began designing this year’s fall collection, he looked to the land for inspiration: warm wood, red earth, the deep greens and navy blues of the forest, a spray of wildflowers, natural fibers.

This season’s pieces are rooted in our connection to the earth, and honor creative influences from around the globe — batik prints, stunning floral motifs, and bold jacquards inspired by Indigenous weavings (from which a portion of sales are donated in support of the Native community.) The line is grounded in luxe fabrics and super-soft yarns, like sherpa made from recycled polyester or pigment-dyed corduroys from a renowned velvet mill in France.

Comfort is a perennial Faherty focus, but it’s something we pay extra attention to at this time of a year — especially as we all now find ourselves indoors more and working from home, changing how we think about getting dressed. New normal = the softest, most comfortable clothes possible.

I’m always shooting for extreme comfort, the feeling that these clothes were made for you. Putting them on should feel like you’ve found everything you’re looking for.” — Mike Faherty

One of Mike’s favorite cozy styles: our upcoming Summit Sweater, knit from a special yarn that blends cashmere and cotton with a few other fibers for the perfect finish. It’s crazy soft, super stretchy, and surprisingly lightweight. The unique patterns — graphic but wearable, inspired by the landscape and colors of the American Southwest — took months for the design team to get just right.

Another big fall focus: outerwear, with an emphasis on utility. We spent time digging into incredible vintage workwear styles this season to create our most functional pieces yet. Designed to work hard and wear well, we zeroed in on creating practical, durable, and modern takes on classic pieces — like the Stretch Blanket-Lined CPO. We made this bestselling shirt jacket even better, updating the fabric with a bit of stretch for a full range of movement, and lining it with a custom-woven blanket inspired by vintage canteens.

Any season is months in the making — a year and a half before anything launches, Mike and the rest of our team review thousands of materials, fine-tune countless variations on cuts and fits. It’s a process that involves endless editing and perfecting, beginning with the raw materials and ending with one final, all-time-great product.

Joy is key, always: we strive to make you happy, to surprise you with quality and delight and comfort. As the seasons shift, that directive remains top of mind and guides everything we do.
