Sun Sessions

Nashville 2021

To us, life is all about creativity, community, and connection. We believe that we can create these moments wherever we are - whether it’s in the craziness of a busy city or around the calm of a campfire.

Sun Sessions is our ongoing event series where we bring together good people doing good work, oftentimes around good food. Our mission? To have everyone leave feeling inspired, relaxed, connected, and joy-filled.

Our Sun Sessions concerts, talks, dinners, and retreats have taken us around the country and back. We’ve been honored to host musicians like Jon Russell and Josiah Johnson of The Head and the Heart, Lone Bellow, Allison Russell, Hiss Golden Messenger, Houndmouth, Mt. Joy Band, Futurebirds, Langhorne Slim, Brad Corrigan of Dispatch, Rayland Baxter, Brian Newman’s Jazz Band, and The Late Show’s Gospel Choir, to name a few.

Whether they’ve been intimate groups of 50 or lively crowds of 500 - these meaningful events with old friends and new always connect us to the heart of our brand: one that is fueled by purpose and optimism.

Artist Spotlight: Houndmouth

Matt Myers, Zak Appleby, and Shane Cody came together to form Houndmouth during a hot Indiana summer ten years ago. Their new album, Good For You (November 5) marks a return to what Houndmouth does best: “shaggy, swinging, big-screen storytelling” (NPR Music) set to a rustic, homespun sound.

Good For You

Their new track, “Las Vegas” — invigorates the bittersweet nature of Good For You with unabashed power, closing out the record with a triumphant spark and a smirk to what could still be. Built off of an older demo, the band nearly withheld the track due to its outlier status — but ultimately found its rowdy energy to be the final, frenetic wave goodbye to a year lost to isolation: “I believe in Las Vegas/The city of plastic/So real it’s dangerous/So real it could save us. Shore Fire Press Release. (August 4, 2021). [Houndmouth Announce New Album Good For You, Out November 5].

“Singing a blend of elegant torch songs, ancestral ballads (in French and English), gentle country shuffles, and Al-Green inspired R&B, Russell embarks on a fresh musical beginning by dealing directly with her traumatic upbringing.” - Rolling Stone Magazine

Dualtone Records

Magnolia Record Club

With 20 years as an independent record label under its belt, Dualtone Records has become a staple in the Nashville music scene. Started back in 2001, the label has built its reputation as a communal hub where artists not only co-exist as colleagues, but also as friends. And it’s reflected in their business model in which the label prioritizes building fair partnerships with their signed artists. We were drawn to the spirit of Dualtone and lucky enough to have a chance encounter with their President, Paul Roper. He introduced us to Magnolia Record Club, their vinyl subscription service for in-the-know music connoisseurs. As a part of Dualtone’s mission to share amazing music with the world, they created Magnolia Record Club, your key to new music discovery. Each month, club members receive exclusive color vinyl pressings shipped to their door - curated by artists, not algorithms. Notable past curators have included artists such as Brandi Carlile, Julien Baker, Rayland Baxter, The Lone Bellow, Joseph and Josh Ritter. In short, you’ll be in good hands.
