Portugal has a legacy of maritime discovery and centuries of explorers that set sail from its shores. Today, a new wave of explorers, chefs, writers, and dreamers are arriving with fresh ideas and open minds. These are a few of the locals who inspired our fall collection.

Taiye has lived everywhere—London, Accra, Berlin, New York—and now calls Lisbon home. She’s drawn to places that blend old-world soul with forward-thinking energy, and Lisbon delivers both.
“Lisbon combines the old-world charm of Rome with the future-facing culture of Berlin… but what I found here is a unique community united by its love of sun, ocean, and exploration.” – Taiye
In her words: “I moved to Lisbon convinced that the city combines the old-world charm of Rome with the future-facing start-up culture of Berlin. I was right. But I discovered something wholly unique to Lisbon: an Anglophone expat community united by its love of sun, ocean and exploration. Chefs, writers, designers, founders, photographers: the city attracts the curious—as much with its natural openness as with its open expanses of nature.” – Taiye

Jade Moyano – Writer and co-founder of Trust and Travel writing retreats
Brazilian-born and LA-based, Jade found in Lisbon a rhythm that feels like home. The city’s samba circles and sunlit streets fuel her writing and inspire the travel retreats she curates around the world.
In her words: “This place informs writing in such a tremendous way. Here, I’m more in touch with my essence. More poetic and lyrical.” – Jade

Camila Martins & Yves Callewaert – Photographer, film director, co-ownersof Lisbon bistros Magnolia and Calma.
This Brazilian-Belgian duo turned a sleepy Lisbon square into a buzzing hub with their bistros, Magnolia and Calma. Between film projects, farmers’ markets, and serving incredible food, Camila and Yves embody the community spirit that makes Lisbon unforgettable.
In their words: “There was a sense of freedom and creative possibility here,” says Camila.
Yves felt “the city’s creative pull.” “Then I met Camila,” he says. “She had this just-do-it spirit, and the opening of Magnolia transformed this sleepy, beautiful little square of Praça das Flores. We now have a second bistro and wine bar, Calma, and host a farmer’s market on the square. It’s such a warm, welcoming community. Contribute, and you feel warmly embraced.”
These are the stories and the people that reminded us why we chase adventure and community everywhere we go.
