So much of what we hear in the news about Haiti--the natural disasters, the corruption, the poverty--is negative. And yet, while those realities certainly exist, there's also another side of Haiti not often seen--one of natural beauty, adventure, surf, and hope.
In partnership with Artists for Peace Justice (APJ), an organization that provides free education to over 2800 high school students, many of whom come from the poorest slum in Haiti, we spent five days exploring Haiti’s offerings, from the streets of dusty Port-au-Prince and the heart wrenching conditions of Cite Soleil to the impressive APJ high school and beautiful turquoise lagoon of Bassin Bleu Waterfall. We left the trip incredibly inspired, grateful, and humbled. We’re excited to share our journey in Haiti with you.
